Sophos UTM (formerly Astaro Security Gateway) star 4.3.Sophos logs show no problems, and Amazon support is non-existent unless you pay up. I'm using only one of the two IPSEC connections Amazon provides (a troubleshooting step) to ensure routes are not getting clobbered for some other reason. I've added the 10.242.2.0/24 network as a local net and verified the route gets propagated to the Amazon VPC. It's almost as if the Sophos will only route from one local subnet at a time over the connection to Amazon VPC. for a while.Īfter some amount of time, the SSL VPN users get through and as soon as they do, LAN users can no longer get to the Amazon VPC! Remote users connect to the Sophos via SSL VPN and get an address in the 10.242.2.0/24 subnet they can reach the LAN easily, but the Amazon VPC network times out. Works great: LAN traffic gets to and from the VPC with nary a hitch.

I have a Sophos UTM 220 with a connect to our Amazon VPC. Gory details: Added subnet won't route through tunnel (Amazon forum) TL DR version: SSL VPN remote users can't reliably get return traffic from Amazon VPC IPSEC connection when the remote users get connected, the LAN to Amazon VPC traffic gets blocked.
